Leeds Rhinos prop Ian Kirke would be happy finishing his career with the Super League champions if the option were available.

Kirke is contracted to the Headingley Carnegie club for 2013, but has been attracting interest with three clubs making approaches.

"I am happy where I am and I would stay here until the end of my career if I could."

Chief executive Gary Hetherington was happy informing Kirke of the attention, although the 31-year-old remains committed to Leeds.

Kirke insists he was never looking for the Headingley exit door, stating that given half a chance he would like to retire at the club.

"I knew they (Wakefield) were interested, but I have a year left and have never been looking to leave," he told the Yorkshire Evening Post.

"I think the reason Leeds have said that I can talk to people if I want to is that I am getting on in years and Leeds don't necessarily pay the best.

"If it works out better for me to go somewhere else that's just one of those things, but I am happy where I am and I would stay here until the end of my career if I could.

"I am not saying that's what will happen. They haven't said anything about the year after next yet, but I suppose it depends on how next season goes."
