Danny McGuire believes Leeds are hitting form at the right time as they prepare to take on Huddersfield in the play-offs on Friday night.
The Rhinos head into the winner-takes-all showdown at the Galpharm on the back of a resounding 41-20 victory in last weekend's eliminator against Hull.
Leeds can also take heart from the fact they beat the Giants on their own patch less than two weeks ago and McGuire is relishing the challenge that knock-out competition brings.
"We were really strong against Hull," he told Sky Sports News. "I think in the play-offs you need to base your game around your defence.
"They had some very good attacking players but we defended our try-line really strong and on the back of that were able to score some nice tries so we're really confident going forward to the game against Huddersfield.
"They're a good team Huddersfield, they finished fourth and deservedly so. It will be tough challenge for us to go over there and get a win.
"They've got some fantastic players; Kevin Brown and Danny Brough are playing really well for them so it will be a big challenge.
"We played them over there two or three weeks ago and managed to get the two points but they beat us here (Headingley) convincingly earlier on in the season.
"But play-off football is totally different, it's about the team that turns up on the night and performs the best and we're confident we can do that."
In scoring in the victory over Hull, McGuire registered his 200th try for the Rhinos and admits it is a feat he is immensely proud of.
"It's a massive honour to be up there with some of the greatest names in the club's history, it's a really big achievement and probably something you look back on when you're career's finished," he said.
"I've just been lucky to play with some great players and been involved with a great team," he concluded modestly.
