NRL side Parramatta Eels have signed Ben Crooks on a two-year contract following his release from Hull FC.
The 21-year-old enjoyed a promising start to his Super League career last season but his form has dipped this term and he has spent the second half the campaign playing on a dual-registration with Doncaster.
A Hull FC spokesman said: "The club feel the circumstances are right for Ben to pursue this significant lifestyle and career move in a new country, particularly following recent recruitment activity.
"He leaves with the best wishes of everyone at the club."
The East Yorkshire club will retain the player's Super League registration in case he returns to England.
Eels head coach Brad Arthur commented: "Ben is a talented footballer who is excited about a chance to make it in the NRL.
"He will add great depth to our outside backs, which means there will be even more competition for a spot in our side - and that's a great thing to have."
Crooks, who will be reunited with former Hull boss Peter Gentle, Parramatta's assistant coach, said: "The next two years are a vital stage of my development, and the NRL has always been a goal of mine.
"I'm looking forward to the challenge."
