Hull FC owner Adam Pearson wants the East Yorkshire club to go all the way in next season's Challenge Cup.

The Black and Whites, who beat Leeds at Cardiff in 2005, have not reached the final of the illustrious competition since 2008 - a 28-16 loss to St Helens.

Hull have strengthened during the close season recruiting the likes of England international Gareth Ellis, a player who impressed in the NRL and brings a wealth of experience to the KC Stadium.

"I'd hope we get a nicer draw this season in the first game to help us ease ourselves into it. If we have a full squad to go at the competition this season then I think we have a real chance in the cup."

Pearson is eager to bring success to the Super League giants and feels a day out in the capital would give everyone a associated with the club a boost.

"I really would like a good cup run this season," he told the Hull Daily Mail. "We had the cup come along at a really bad time for us last season.

"We had a lot of injuries and got a tough draw against Huddersfield. We were up on them but couldn't hold on and it wasn't to be.

"I'd hope we get a nicer draw this season in the first game to help us ease ourselves into it. If we have a full squad to go at the competition this season then I think we have a real chance in the cup.

"It is something we want to do. We want to get to Wembley.

"If I could lead Hull FC out at Wembley it would be my greatest day in sport and would give me real pride. It is a fantastic setting, it puts a whole boost into the club getting to the final and it has to be a big objective for the season.

"Financially it is an incentive. Things are tough out there and we have to earn every penny. There is no doubt success on the pitch and a run in the cup would help the club."
