Scott Prince's agent hopes prolonged discussions over his client's move to Hull FC will conclude next week.
The Australia scrum-half has been linked with the KC Stadium club for the best part of a month, with owner Adam Pearson revealing earlier this week that they had made their final offer to him.
Prince's agent Steve Robinson says the 32-year-old is very close to putting pen-to-paper on a three-year deal once his exit terms with the Gold Coast Titans have been formalised.
Robinson revealed Prince has already started looking for accommodation in Hull and expects the Black and Whites to be the last stop in his career before retirement.
"We know Hull won't wait forever, but I would urge them to be patient until we can get a severance agreed with Gold Coast," Robinson told the Hull Daily Mail.
"He still has a year remaining on his deal there, but I can pretty much categorically say he won't be there next season.
"Now we have to make sure Scott comes away from the situation without losing out, and that is what we are hoping to agree and get signed off.
"This will be Scott's final career move without a doubt, and a three-year deal in Super League is very attractive. It is a great opportunity for Scott to test himself in Super League and for his family to move to England and experience life in Europe in the off season.
"I actually know York very well. It is a wonderful place so I have been telling him that he'll love it over there. We have talked about the move and Scott has been looking on the internet at properties to rent.
"He is certainly keen on the move. Hull would have known long ago if he wasn't keen, I can assure you of that.
"This has taken much longer than we wanted, but often, due to holidays on both sides of the world, the right people haven't been around to sort things out. I haven't seen the final offer which is being talked about, but once we have something written in front of us, and we can all sit and talk it through, I am confident we will get it done."
