Hull FC owner Adam Pearson has criticised the RFL Operational Rules Tribunal decision that Leeds Rhinos do not have to pay compensation for Luke Briscoe.

The youngster rejected a new contract offer at the KC Stadium last September before linking up with the Rhinos on a three-year contract.

The Black and Whites felt they were due compensation for aiding Briscoe's development and are unhappy with the tribunal's ruling - stating they offered him three formal contracts.

"Hull FC will endeavour to ensure no further young talent is poached from the club."
Adam Pearson Quotes of the week

Pearson has labelled the tribunal process a 'complete sham' and has called for an overhaul of the governing body and its 'hugely expensive and ineffectual infrastructure'.

Predictable

"The result of the RFL tribunal has obviously not come as a surprise to us at Hull FC as we fully expected this predictable outcome despite Luke being presented with three formal contract offers," he told the club's official website.

"The whole tribunal process taking six months has been a complete sham and fiasco from start to finish and I had no confidence whatsoever that this would be a fair or equitable outcome.

"After the debacle of the Super League naming rights sponsorship process and other poorly-handled situations over the last 12 months, this only serves as further confirmation that there needs to be a complete root and branch overhaul of the entire governing body and its hugely expensive and ineffectual infrastructure.

"This is certainly my view and I believe that of a number of other Super League club owners and chairmen and this review process is now of the utmost importance to the game as a whole.

"Hull FC will endeavour to ensure no further young talent is poached from the club and this objective will be helped by not having such close liaisons with other competing Super League clubs."
