Warrington's Micky Higham insists he would happily swap one of his Challenge Cup winners' medals for victory in Saturday's Grand Final against his former club Wigan.

The Wolves hooker has won three times at Wembley, but the 33-year-old, who won the big prize with St Helens in 2002, would desperately love to end Wolves' 58-year wait for the trophy at Old Trafford.

"At the moment you relate Warrington with the Challenge Cup - we've won three out of the previous four - but this is the big one for me," he said.

"Ask any of the lads, they'd probably swap one of those Challenge Cups for Super League, definitely. I certainly would.

"This one has eluded Warrington for a number of years. We have been knocking on the door for a couple of years and it would be a great finish to what has been a consistent season."

Higham was on the losing side 12 months ago when Leeds triumphed 26-18 to deny Wolves, but he hopes that experience will serve them well this time around.

"I think it will work for us really well," he added. "The occasion probably got to us.

"We started off really well but Leeds, being Leeds, clawed their way back into the game and found a way to pull away. We couldn't stick with them.

"We have had a few games this year where we have been able to grind out wins or taken a lead and kept hold so that helps.

"Last year we got a feel for it and hopefully, if we can keep composed and play with more patience, we can get that victory."
