Lee Briers: Free to play in Super League semi-final
Lee Briers will be available for Warrington's Super League semi-final clash after he avoided a supension for punching.
The stand-off submitted an early-guilty plea to a charge of punching during the Wolves' 40-20 victory over Leeds on Saturday.
The veteran was cited by the Rugby Football League's match-review panel after lashing out at Rhinos forward Carl Ablett.
Briers was charged with a minor grade A offence, and his early admission of guilt enabled him to avoid any suspension.
Warrington will be at home in next Thursday's first preliminary semi-final against one of the winners of this week's sudden-death play-offs.
Meanwhile, Catalan Dragons hooker Eloi Pelissier also avoided a ban after admitting foul play during his side's 14-4 play-off defeat at Hull.
