The Wolves have swapped the cold snap in England for a warm-weather training camp in Tenerife, giving coach Tony Smith a chance to put his squad through their paces ahead of their opening fixture at home to Castleford on February 3.
They will be hoping to go one better in 2013 having lost last year's Grand Final to Leeds, though they did beat the Rhinos to lift the Challenge Cup at Wembley.
"I can't wait to get started," Ratchford, who is heading into his second season with the Wolves, told the club's official website.
"It will take a lot to emulate last year but hopefully we can do, and go one better in the Grand Final and finish off with both trophies rather than just the one. As last year, hopefully I can get in the starting 17 and then see how it goes from there.
"We've not brought anyone in from outside we've just promoted the younger lads. A few who were eying up the squad this last year have come into the top 25 so it's going to be tough.
"They got their chance to play a few games last year so they've got that experience and will want to play more keeping some of the older lads on their toes. Everyone will be playing at 100% every week to keep their place in the squad."
Before the season begins Warrington will face Wigan Warriors at the Halliwell Jones Stadium in a testimonial game for England international Ben Westwood.
