Warrington will continue to "throw the ball about" regardless of the conditions at Old Trafford on Saturday for the Grand Final clash with Leeds.

Under the guidance of former England - and Rhinos - boss Tony Smith, the Wolves have become the great entertainers in Super League.

And although the weather at this time of year might not be idea for free-flowing rugby, Smith insists his side will be aiming to turn on the style in their maiden Grand Final appearance.

"It's a different environment for evening games," said Smith. "There's dew on the grass at the very least, if it's not raining or drizzling, and it does have an effect on the style of rugby league that's played. But we don't change too much.

"You need to be aware of the conditions and play to them to some degree but I'll never go too far. I think most people know I'm not a five-drives-and-a-kick coach. If a pass is on or an offload is on, I want them to back themselves.

"We've got a pretty good kicking game as well - that's one of Leeds' strengths and probably why they're successful at this time of year - but we also like to take some chances and throw the ball around.

"Hopefully we'll get a right blend and that will give us a chance to ask some questions of them. What I would most like is a defensive system that enables you to make a mistake or two.

"We're known for a mistake or three or four, that's the way we play, but we put a lot of faith in our defence as well and that probably enables us to take a bit more chance than some other teams."
