Richard Mathers: Closing in on a permanent switch to the Wakefield Wildcats
Wakefield are understood to be finalising a move for Richard Mathers that will see the full-back join the Wildcats on a permanent basis.
The 28-year-old spent the season on loan at the Rapid Solicitors Stadium after falling out of favour at Castleford.
The former Leeds, Wigan and Warrington man still has one year remaining on his current contract with the Tigers.
Mathers, who played in all 27 Super League matches for the Wildcats, is keen on a permanent move to Richard Agar's side after helping them reach the play-offs in 2012.
The experienced back would become the club's third close-season signing if he joins permanently after the club retained Kyle Amor and Paul Sykes.
