Wildcats coach feeling positive ahead of 2013

Wakefield boss Richard Agar is relishing the 2013 Super League campaign following a positive season with the Wildcats. Seven straight victories to end the league season meant the West Yorkshire club secured one of the coveted play-off positions. Wakefield's hopes of their first Old Trafford appearance ended on Saturday following a 42-20 defeat to champions Leeds Rhinos. Agar is not letting the loss diminish his enthusiasm for 2013, stating the club have made great strides during the course of the season.

Looking forward

"We knew it was going to be a huge rebuilding job," commented Agar on the club's official website. "But we've rebuilt it well and we really try our best to play good rugby. I think we've come an awful long way and at this point it's exciting to try and get the right players in to help our deficiencies and take the team forward next year. "There's no doubt that we'll be starting at a far greater starting point then we did this year. If we can keep that same professionalism, spirit, attitude and the abilities to work for each other then hopefully we can improve the quality of the squad and be a good team next year. "The challenge for us and me in particular is to try and make sure we can move forward next year, and I'm looking forward to that one. "We've defied a lot of people this year and you know that a couple of losses next year people will be telling us it was a flash in the pan, but we're determined to keep moving forward."
