Phil Clarke picks his top five Super League tries of the week.

Phil Clarke's top five tries from round 18 of Super League include efforts from Thomas Bosc, Adam Swift and Albert Kelly...

5. Thomas Bosc v Hull FC

The half-back got the try but it was a pair of forwards who made it. A quick play-the-ball from Julian Bousquet allowed Remi Casty to run at a retreating defence on the half-way line. He faked to pass, and then stepped off his left foot without losing speed.

He was then faced with a classic 2 vs 1 on the full-back, and delivered a brilliant pass to Bosc for a try under the posts. I am not sure that any other player in the Super League would have been able to pass it so accurately to their team-mate as the French front-rower. Nice skill from a man who is known more for using his size to make a difference.

4. Albert Kelly v Widnes

Hull KR have been good at scoring long-range tries this year, and this was another example of the speed in their side. James Greenwood continues to gain ground and stay on his feet - despite having 3 defenders in contact with him.

At the last second he releases an easy offload for John Boudebza to catch and continue on the play. He progresses until he feels Kelly's presence and puts the ball into his hands - although there was a question over the last pass - for his 11th Super League try.

3. Jodie Broughton v Warrington

It's not unusual to see the Giants score from a kick - but this was something a little different from the ordinary. On the last tackle, Brough was closed down and passed the ball on to young Jared Simpson. His chip over was charged down again by the Wolves, but fell kindly to Eorl Crabtree.

He kept the play going and got the ball back to Brough who managed to shake off Myler and then put in a perfect kick for his left winger, who was unmarked and unchallenged as he fell on the ball in the corner. Instinctive, natural and visionary play from the Giants.

2. Adam Swift v Wigan

The Saints had failed to score in almost half an hour - and then all of a sudden clicked.  Most teams try to attack from the middle of the pitch, which is exactly where the Saints played the ball, but few can do it with the timing and precision that allowed Adam Swift to cross in the corner without anyone touching him. It was the most skilful passing try by any team in Round 18.

1. Denny Solomona v Leeds

The Tigers winger had two contenders for the top five this week. He was on the end of the swing back switch play early in the second half, when Michael Shenton showed us what great centre play looks like - but it was his try that confirmed the win that claimed top spot.

Desire and determination pushed Solomona to chase the kick downfield harder than any other player on the field, and he was rewarded when the ball came free for him. His actions typified the Castleford spirit on show, and improved their chances of a top-four finish.
