Salford City Reds have made their first signing for the 2013 season after taking second row forward Andrew Dixon from St Helens on a three-year contract.
The 22-year-old played 20 times for Saints this year and he spent some time with former back-row partner Matty Ashurst during pre-season training this week.
"Andrew will do well for us," said Reds coach Phil Veivers.
"He has a wealth of Super League experience from his time at St Helens, he's young and hard running.
"He will fit in well with what we are trying to achieve next season."
Seven members of last season's squad have already left Salford during the close-season but a number of new players are expected to arrive at the Salford City Stadium if the club's proposed takeover is completed.
