Salford have named former Wigan and Huddersfield back-row forward Stephen Wild as their new captain for 2012.
The 30-year-old Wild, who joined the City Reds from Huddersfield 12 months ago, takes over the captaincy from Australian Daniel Holdsworth, who also changes squad number from seven to six following the departure of Stefan Ratchford.
Full-back Luke Patten, who joined Salford from Canterbury Bulldogs a year ago, has been named as vice-captain by new head coach Phil Veivers.
"The coaching department have seen the captaincy and vice-captaincy coming from these two players - both of them leaders in their own right, and this is no detriment to outgoing captain Daniel Holdsworth," Veivers said.
"This allows Daniel to concentrate on playing footy without any outside influences affecting his game."
