Wilkin - Job not done

Saints ace not getting carried away

St Helens forward Jon Wilkin knows it is not a case of 'job done' in the wake of their 28-6 victory over Warrington in the first week of the play-offs. Mike Rush's team moved to within 80 minutes of yet another Old Trafford trip following Saturday's impressive win over the Wolves. Wilkin was pleased enough with Saints' display but he knows they need to improve in some areas if they are to become champions. The 28-year-old has no qualms with people writing off the team, stating they can raise their game when it matters.

Improvement

"We played well in patches and in the second half we were very good, as good as we have been all year," he told Super League TV. "We made a lot of errors, like Warrington did, and we will need to get better. "A lot has been said of our team; every year I have been here we have been written off. But we consistently get to the big games and the reason is because of performances like this. "We're another step closer to the Grand Final but we know the job isn't done yet."
