St Helens forward Andre Savelio has signed a two-year contract extension at Langtree Park.

The new contract will keep the 20-year-old at the reigning Super League champions until the end of 2017.

Savelio, who has been with Saints since the age of 14, has made 21 senior appearances and said he was delighted to extend his contract.

"I'm happy to agree a deal," he said. "I love playing with the group of lads we have at Saints and I am very grateful for the opportunity.

"I've had to work hard this year because I missed pre-season in 2014 because I was unwell.

"I had a lot of catching up to do but I'm happy with how it has gone so far and I am grateful that Keiron (Cunningham) has given me the chance to play a number of first team games."
