Warrington winger Kevin Penny insists his spectacular try for the Wolves against Leigh on Saturday was no fluke.
The 27-year-old scored two quickfire tries early in the second half of the Challenge Cup quarter-final against the Centurions, the second a superb effort when he flew through the air and over a defender in the right-hand corner before reaching back to touch down.
Penny’s heroics helped the Wolves rally from 14-12 down at the break to wrap up a 34-24 victory and secure a semi-final showdown with Hull KR, and he was quick to pay tribute to Warrington’s first-team coach Richard Agar for his part in the second try.
Penny told Sky Sports News HQ: “Richard Agar has come on board with us this year and he has added some of those to our skill sessions.
“He takes some of the backs on the crash mats that we have got in the gym and we practice those kind of things and I think it’s a really good skill to have as a winger now.
“It can be painful if you fall the wrong way, but it was a good try and one I am proud of.
“But at the end of the day it’s a team game and it was about us winning that game and getting through to the semi-finals rather than who scored the tries and how it was done.”
