Catalans Dragons prop Julian Bousquet has signed a new two-year contract with the club that will keep him at the Gilbert Brutus Stadium until the end of 2017.

The 24-year-old France international has made 44 appearances for the Dragons since his debut in 2012.

He has missed only two games this season due to injury and has scored two tries in 14 appearances, one in Super League and one in the Challenge Cup.

Bousquet said: “I’m really happy to stay at the club. I feel really good here, I’m happy with the staff and my team-mates and it was an easy decision for me.

“I want to win a trophy with the club. We are a really competitive team, there is a great atmosphere in the group and I feel we can do something great this season.”

Head coach Laurent Frayssinous said: “It is great news for the club to keep Julian for the next two seasons.

“He has improved a lot to become a Super League player, he will of course bring us his on-field qualities but also his attitude and desire to help the club to develop and we want to build our future with Julian.

“We always had belief in him and we are delighted to see his efforts rewarded.”
