Catalans Dragons centre Vincent Duport has been ruled out for the rest of the season after injuring his shoulder in the defeat at Hull FC last month.

The 27-year-old has suffered a ruptured tendon and will have to undergo an operation in the coming days.

However, it will take Duport around six months to recover and he will therefore not be able to return to action until the 2016 season.

Dragons head coach Laurent Frayssinous said: “The news is a hugely disappointing blow for the player and the whole team.

“Vincent has already experienced this kind of hardship in the past and I am sure he will come back even stronger.

“Despite his injury, it remains important for the group to continue to support him.”

A France international, Duport had scored three tries in the first six rounds of Super League XX.
