Stefan Ratchford is hoping to be back in action for Warrington in their home game against Hull KR on Sunday March 8.

The Wolves utility player was forced to miss the 18-12 defeat to St George Illawarra Dragons in the World Club Series last Friday after suffering a shoulder injury in the early stages of the 7-6 Super League victory at Hull on February 13.

Speaking ahead of his side’s game against the Catalan Dragons, Warrington’s Stefan Ratchford outlines The Wolves’ hopes of securing silverware this season.

Ratchford will also sit out this Saturday’s game at Catalans Dragons, but is closing in on a return to full training.

He told Sky Sports News HQ: “Hopefully I will be back next week. We have got a tough game against Hull KR.

“I am hoping to start running towards the end of the week and see how we go from there.”

Ratchford expects his team-mates to return to winning ways against Catalans following the disappointment of the defeat to Australia’s version of the Dragons, as they have a good record in France in recent years.

He said: “I don’t think it (the World Club Series defeat) is going to affect us too much.

Confident

“We are a pretty confident group and it kind of shows in the way we play. We are pretty confident in how we are and the way we play.

“We were disappointed to come away with a loss but we have taken a lot of confidence out of the game and we had a lot of opportunities to score points ourselves and didn’t quite do that, so it’s not going to affect us too much.

“The last couple of years we have had a pretty good record against Catalans so we are confident going over there.

“They have had a bit of an up-and-down start and it has been a pretty good hunting ground for us these past couple of seasons.”
