Leeds chief executive Gary Hetherington is setting the lofty target of the Treble for the Rhinos for the 2015 Super League campaign.

The Headingley club will be without a second straight title in 2014 having been knocked out of the playoffs at the first hurdle by Catalan Dragons after claiming five Grand Final triumphs in the previous seven seasons.

Leeds did end their 15-year-old wait to secure the Tetley’s Challenge Cup with a 23-10 success over Castleford Tigers in August, although they finished a disappointing sixth in the table - including ending the campaign with five straight league defeats.

I firmly believe we will have our best-ever squad ready to meet this challenge and play together for the last time. I believe stability is a key factor for success.

The club have just one fresh face on the horizon with Adam Cuthbertson due to join from Newcastle Knights and Hetherington insists there will be no wholesale changes.

Fans have been far from impressed with the club’s below-par league campaign and while Hetherington admits new signings do bring excitement he is asking them to trust their model of success.

Targets

“Our target for 2015 is to win the league leaders’ trophy, retain the Challenge Cup and win back the Super League title,” he told the Yorkshire Evening Post.

“And I firmly believe we will have our best-ever squad ready to meet this challenge and play together for the last time. I believe stability is a key factor for success.

“I know fans like to see a raft of new signings and new coaches and that model certainly operates in football today, but for me, that is the perfect recipe for non-achievement.

“It does provide instant interest and excitement, but for fans who crave to be part of a club that can consistently challenge for honours in a very tough and competitive league, then please put your trust in our model.”
