Leeds Rhinos chief executive Gary Hetherington has ruled out further players leaving on loan in 2015 following Widnes Vikings’ capture of Chris Clarkson.

The 24-year-old will spend next season with Denis Betts’ men after slipping down Brian McDermott’s pecking order at Headingley during the second half of the current campaign.

Leeds have been happy loaning out players in the past with the likes of Liam Sutcliffe, Thomas Minns, Alex Foster, Jimmy Keinhorst all spending time away from the west Yorkshire club.

Hetherington has labelled Clarkson’s move a ‘one-off’ and that there are no more plans in the pipeline to farm out the club’s up and coming talent.

“He is just going there for the year, like we have done in the past for other players,” Hetherington told the Yorkshire Evening Post.

“He will be back with us in 2016. It is a bit of a one-off and there’s no plans for anyone else to go out on loan.”
