Travis Burns has signed a three-year deal with St Helens, after spending the previous two seasons at Hull KR.
The 30-year-old Aussie will join up with his new club at the end of the season having crossed the Pennines for a transfer fee of £60,000.
The capture of Burns, who spent eight seasons in the NRL with Manly, North Queensland and Penrith Panthers, will be seen as a marquee signing for Saints’ fans.
And St Helens chairman Eamonn McManus told the club’s website: "Travis is a key signing for us and will bring both quality and depth to our half back options and combinations.
"He is a proven and experienced stand off and will also bring directness and toughness as well as a strong kicking game."
Head coach Nathan Brown added: "Travis is a great competitor and will bring that to the club.
"He will also add good depth to our halves and we're looking forward to having him on board."
Burns himself said: "Whilst I'm sad to leave Hull KR – they have been great to me and my family – I am really excited to be joining Saints.
"It will be great linking with my friend and former teammate Luke Walsh in what is an exciting and strong squad.
"Saints have a strong team that is looking to win silverware over the next few years and I am excited and looking forward to being part of that."
Stand-Off Travis has scored 198 points for Rovers in 46 appearances.
