A last-minute try by Josh Charnley saw champions Wigan snatch a dramatic 14-14 draw in their First:Utility Super League Round 24 clash at Hull KR.
Trailing 14-10 inside the final minute, Wigan were awarded a penalty deep inside their own half when Rovers broke from a scrum too early.
Although they made only 20 metres with the touchfinding penalty kick, it was enough to launch one final Warriors assault, which saw Anthony Gelling send England winger Charnley over to level the scores.
Half-back Matty Smith had a touchline conversion to try and give his team victory, but his attempt fell just short of the posts.
Defeat would have done scant justice to the Robins' efforts, though the draw still leaves them outside the playoff places and gives them only three games to bridge a two-point gap.
Meanwhile Wigan's point leaves them a point behind leaders St Helens in second place, although they could lose that position to either Castleford or Leeds over the weekend.
Dan Sarginson got the Warriors off to a great start, posting the game's first try after just 83 seconds, though by half-time Rovers had well and truly woken up and surged into a 10-4 lead, courtesy of tries from Craig Hall and Jason Chan, plus a conversion by Travis Burns.
Winger Ben Cockayne looked to have edged the home side closer to taking both points when he scored after 59 minutes, but despite apparently being second-best on the night, the Warriors kept playing until the hooter.
Skipper Sean O'Loughlin got his team back in it with a try eight minutes from time, goaled by Smith, before Charnley's late heroics.
