Jason Crookes will face a disciplinary committee to answer a Grade B charge following his sending-off during Super League's Magic Weekend at the Etihad Stadium.
The Hull FC winger was shown a red card during the second half of the East Yorkshire derby on Saturday when he was sent-off for a head-high lunge on Liam Salter.
He has been cited for a careless tackle and, as he has already submitted an early guilty plea this season, now faces a one or two-match ban if found guilty of this latest offence.
Crookes is the only player to be charged after the Magic Weekend in Manchester.
Team-mate Kirk Yeaman has been warned for a dangerous throw, while Salford's Gareth Hock has also been ticked off for raising the knee in a tackle.
Meanwhile, Wigan's Dom Crosby received a third warning, also for a dangerous throw.
