Ben Jones-Bishop: Leaving Leeds Rhinos at the end of the season
Salford Red Devils head coach Iestyn Harris has confirmed his interest in Ben Jones-Bishop, who is leaving Leeds Rhinos at the end of the season.
The 25-year-old has rejected Leeds' offer of a new deal and will depart Headingley Carnegie for pastures new ahead of the 2015 season.
Free-scoring Jones-Bishop is believed to be open to a lucrative move to the NRL while Warrington Wolves were linked with his signature during the last close-season.
"Ben Jones-Bishop is somebody who I've admired over the past few years and I don't think I'm on my own in saying that."
Salford, who have already snapped up exciting New Zealand talent Kevin Locke for next season, are the first club to throw their hat in the ring for his services.
Harris has endured a difficult start to life replacing Brian Noble at the helm knows Jones-Bishop is a quality player and hopes to get the chance to speak to the England Knight.
"I think when any quality player says they are not going to stay with their current club then you've got to be in the market for them so long as you can fit them within your budget," he told Love Rugby League.
"Ben Jones-Bishop is somebody who I've admired over the past few years and I don't think I'm on my own in saying that.
"There are a number of coaches who admire his style of play, he's got speed in abundance which is one quality you can't always buy.
"If we get an opportunity to speak with him and let him know about our plans for the club then I'd be delighted."
