St Helens' Kyle Amor will miss the next three months with a knee injury, head coach Nathan Brown has confirmed.

The Saints forward suffered the blow in last month’s Tetley's Challenge Cup defeat with his former side Leeds and left the stadium on crutches, prompting fears he may miss the rest of the season.

However, Brown delivered the news that the injury was not as bad as initially feared and hopes to have Amor, 26, back before the end of the 2014 Super League campaign.

"Kyle will be out for three months with his knee which, as bad as it sounds, means he might come back and play at the end of the year."

"Kyle will be out for three months with his knee which, as bad as it sounds, means he might come back and play at the end of the year,” he told the club's official website.

Bonus

“That is a bonus for us. There are hurdles to overcome but at the moment they don't think it requires surgery.”

There was more positive news in regard to Jordan Turner who was also injured in the defeat to the Rhinos, with Brown suggesting the centre will be back playing again sooner rather than later.

"When Jordan's injury was scanned we discovered it wasn't a bone break but ligament damage," he continued. "It is coming along well and it is a short-term injury.”

The Saints boss also revealed that Anthony Laffranchi, Willie Manu, Mark Percival and Gary Wheeler will also be sidelined for Sunday’s trip to Bradford Bulls.
