Workington have confirmed the appointment of ex-Salford boss Phil Veivers as their new head coach.
The 49-year-old Australian, sacked by the Red Devils 12 months ago, takes control of the Kingstone Press Championship following Gary Charlton's resignation a fortnight ago.
Town vice-chairman Mark Fryer said: "Phil's the right person with a no-nonsense approach and the right pedigree to move the club forward.
"He comes with a wealth of experience, is very highly regarded within the game and has a wealth of contacts throughout rugby league."
Workington currently sit in ninth place in the second tier, having lost two of their opening three games.
