Scott Dureau has suffered another huge injury setback which is expected to sideline him for around four months.

The Catalan Dragons have confirmed that the scrum-half will undergo surgery on an arm injury on Wednesday.

The Australian suffered a ruptured biceps tendon during Sunday's 36-6 Super League defeat at Castleford, his first match of the season.

Dureau made only eight appearances for the Dragons last year after overcoming an operation to remove a brain tumour.

A statement from the Perpignan club on Tuesday read: "The Catalans scrum-half suffered a biceps tendon rupture and will undergo surgery in France on Wednesday."

The Dragons, who have lost both their opening games, will also be without full-back or winger Damien Cardace for their first home game of the season against Leeds on Friday night after he picked up an ankle injury against the

Tigers.
