Roger Tuivasa-Sheck: Will play no part in Saturday's World Club Challenge

Sky Bet

Sydney Roosters' New Zealand Test winger Roger Tuivasa-Sheck has been ruled out of Saturday's World Club Challenge against Wigan Warriors at Allianz Stadium.

The 20-year-old, who was a sensation at the 2013 World Cup with eight tries in six appearances, has failed to recover from a fractured right fibula sustained in the early stages of the final against Australia at Old Trafford in November.

Tuivasa-Sheck is expected to return for the Roosters' opening game of their NRL title defence in two weeks' time and his place will go to another Kiwi international, Shaun Kenny-Dowall, who missed the World Cup through injury.

Roosters' former Catalan Dragons coach Trent Robinson, who will take part in his first World Club Challenge after claiming the NRL title in his debut season in charge of the Tricolours, has named a 20-man squad which includes 15 of last season's Grand Finalists.

Retired forward Luke O'Donnell and Tuivasa-Sheck are the only omissions from the team that beat Manly Sea Eagles 28-16 at Stadium Australia last October.

Former Hull FC prop Sam Moa, one of 11 Roosters players involved in the World Cup, is in the starting line-up, with new recruit Remi Casty named as a potential replacement following his close-season move from Catalan Dragons.

Sydney Roosters (probable): A Minichiello (capt); D Tupou, M Jennings, M Aubusson, S Kenny-Dowall; J Maloney, M Pearce; J Waerea-Hargreaves, J Friend, S Moa, B Cordner, S Bill Williams, F-P Nuuausala. Replacements (from): D Mortimer, A Guerra, D Napa, R Casty, K Evans, T Milne, K Kara.
