Louis Anderson: May miss start of season

Sky Bet

Catalans Dragons second row Louis Anderson is danger of missing the start of the new Super League season after returning to New Zealand for personal reasons.

The former Kiwi international has been given permission to fly home with his family on a month's leave and will miss the Dragons' pre-season friendlies against London and Widnes.

He is due to return to Perpignan before the opening game at Hull on February 14 but may not be ready to play - although he will continue to train whilst at home in New Zealand.

Personal reasons

"Louis asked to go back to his native country to be close to his family for personal reasons," said Catalan chief executive Christophe Jouffret.

"We granted him this favour. Louis should be back early February but will follow a personal training programme during his stay near Auckland.

"The whole club sends its best wishes to Louis and hopes he will be back as soon as possible."
