The Boxing Day friendly between Leeds Rhinos and Wakefield Trinity Wildcats ended in a thrilling 18-18 draw.
The Wildcats' Bobbie Goulding slotted a penalty with the final kick of the match to leave honours even in front of the 8,909 strong crowd at Headingley.
However, Rhinos' Australian forward Brett Delaney took a knock to the ribs in the second half and went for a scan on Friday.
"He looks sore at the moment, but hopefully that's all it is," said Rhinos coach Brian McDermott.
Veteran prop Ryan Bailey had to withdraw from the fixture after picking up an Achilles injury.
Meanwhile, Leeds tested a new half-back combination with Liam Sutcliffe and Zak Hardaker. Hardaker, playing his first game since he left England's World Cup squad under a cloud, was Leeds' captain for the fixture.
Wildcats coach Richard Agar was happy with the match, saying the pre-season game had "served its purpose".
