Wigan Warriors head coach Shaun Wane has rejected speculation playmaker Blake Green could leave the club before the end of his contract.

The Australian half-back, who has one year remaining on his Wigan deal, was linked over weekend with a move to NRL club Melbourne Storm.

However, Wane insists Green is under contract at the DW Stadium club and will not be joining the likes of Sam Tomkins, Lee Mossop and Pat Richards in signing for NRL clubs.

"He's contracted here and he's very happy here," he told the Wigan Evening Post. "He loves it at Wigan."

Green enjoyed a season to remember following his move from Hull KR, helping the team win the Challenge Cup while he was also won the Harry Sunderland Trophy in Wigan's Grand Final success over Warrington.
