Huddersfield Giants' head coach Paul Anderson insists prop Craig Kopczak will be an even better player in the 2014 Super League season.

The former Bradford Bulls man proved a big hit at the John Smith's Stadium following his move from Odsal, helping the team win the League Leaders' Shield.

Kopczak was also part of the Wales squad that participated in the Rugby League World Cup and Anderson was also pleased with the 26-year-old's displays for his country.

"Even though he's already a good player, he'll be even better next year with another pre-season and more training under his belt."

Huddersfield have bolstered their pack in the off season with the capture of Antonio Kaufusi from the London Broncos and Anderson believes the addition of the 29-year-old Tongan will help share the workload with Eorl Crabtree and Kopczak.

"Koppy played well for us all year and didn't let Wales down as their World Cup captain at all," Anderson told the Huddersfield Daily Examiner.

Even better

"And even though he's already a good player, he'll be even better next year with another pre-season and more training under his belt.

"What's also going to help him get better and better is the fact he and Eorl Crabtree are going to get more support from the big fella, Antonio Kaufusi, next year.

"Koppy and Eorl had to take on so much of the responsibility in the front row last season, and did a magnificent job. But they'll benefit significantly from sharing that workload around a lot more.

"At the moment Antonio is working hard to re-discover the form that made him an Australian international a couple of years, and not the Kaufusi we saw at London Broncos.

"If he does that, then we know how much that'll help Koppy and our other big men. That's an exciting proposition."
