Two video referees will be used in addition to the on-field official
Two video referees will be used during the Rugby League World Cup semi-finals and final.
The decision to use an extra official, which was taken by the World Cup match officials appointments panel, mirrors that used in the Australian National Rugby League.
Both semi-finals take place at Wembley on Saturday with tournament hosts England facing New Zealand before Australia take on Fiji.
Panel member Stuart Cummings said "The second video referee will observe the decision-making process of the video referee and offer additional information where it is deemed necessary.
"The match officials appointments panel feel that this is an appropriate step at this stage of the tournament."
Australian Ben Cummins will referee the first semi-final, with Ashley Klein (Australia) and Henry Perenara (New Zealand) the video officials.
England's Richard Silverwood will be in charge of the second semi, with Ben Thaler (England) and Perenara the video referees.
