Andy Lynch: Returning to his first club Castleford
Hull prop Andy Lynch has confirmed he will be re-joining Castleford at the end of the season.
Lynch, 33, spent the first six years of his career at the Tigers, from 1999-2004, before playing seven seasons with Bradford and joining Hull two years ago.
"It's going to be sad leaving Hull," Lynch told Sky's Boots 'N' All programme. "There's lots of happy memories. The fans are absolutely brilliant. They welcomed me from day one."
Lynch is Castleford's seventh confirmed signing for 2014 following the acquisition of Wakefield second rower Frankie Mariano, Salford duo Ashley Gibson and Marc Sneyd, London pair Luke Dorn and Scott Wheeldon and former Hull scrum-half Brett Seymour.
"Every time I've come back to Cas it's been emotional," Lynch added. "I'm glad I've got the chance to go back there next year. I'm really looking forward to it. It's a different kind of atmosphere down at Cas.
"They've signed some quality players - it's going to be exciting times next year."
Hull say they have released Lynch from the final year of his contract to enable him to return to his old club.
"On behalf of the team, we would like to wish Andy the very best for the future," said coach Peter Gentle.
