Paul Anderson: Does not want Huddersfield's season to end just yet
Paul Anderson is looking for a much-improved display from his Huddersfield Giants side when they tackle Hull FC at the John Smith's Stadium on Thursday.
The Giants surrendered a week off and 'Club Call' for winning the League Leaders' Shield following last week's home defeat to the Wigan Warriors.
Huddersfield were far from their best against Shaun Wane's men, although they still have another chance to reach Old Trafford with the team from East Yorkshire now standing in their way.
Anderson acknowledges last Thursday's loss to Wigan was not up to scratch and he says that if they put in a repeat performance then their season will be over.
"This will be our last home game of the season, and we obviously want to sign off on the right note," Anderson told the Huddersfield Daily Examiner. "But we know that in Hull we face another big challenge.
"We've been involved in two good, physical games with them this season, and we don't expect Thursday to be any different. But this week is all about us and what we do, not what Hull do.
"After saving one of our worst performances for some time for the game against Wigan, we know we can't afford another repeat.
"We have to step up and get back to playing the way we have done for so much of the season to lift the League Leaders Shield. This has been a massive year for us, but no-one is ready for it to end just yet."
