Michael Dobson: Australian playmaker heading to the NRL
Australian playmaker Michael Dobson has not ruled out the possibility of re-joining Super League club Hull KR in the future.
The 27-year-old has exercised an option in his contract allowing him to join NRL side the Newcastle Knights on a one-year deal.
Dobson, formerly of the Catalan Dragons and Wigan Warriors, has spent the majority of his rugby league career in England.
He is disappointed to be calling time on his spell at New Craven Park as he sees no reason why they cannot challenge for honours.
"You never know, I could be back here one day," Dobson told the Hull Daily Mail.
"The plan is to go to Australia and finish my career there, but you never know what will happen.
"I didn't think I'd be over in England this early and play nearly six-and-a-half seasons here in total.
"It's disappointing to leave, but at the same time it's exciting for me too, starting a new chapter in my life.
"When you look at the players signed for next season, they are quality players.
"If they get their fair share of luck, I don't see why KR can't finish higher up the ladder and challenging for honours."
