Zeb Taia has been charged with a Grade C offence following a challenge on St Helens stand-off Gareth O'Brien at the weekend.
O'Brien was knocked out cold by the Catalan Dragons' centre and Taia has been charged with a 'reckless striking with the shoulder offence.'
Following Saturday's match at Stade Gilbert Brutus, St Helens coach Nathan Brown called the incident "disgraceful."
Taia is likely to be suspended for two or three games.
From the same game, Catalans' Mickael Simon and Louie McCarthy Scarsbrook of Saints have been charged with Grade A punching offences.
Elsewhere, Hull KR's Lincoln Withers has been charged with a Grade B dangerous contact offence following a challenge on Wigan full-back Ryan Hampshire.
All four players have until 11.00 am on Tuesday to submit early guilty pleas in relation to the offences.
