Sam Tomkins will be on Craig Sandercock's mind when Wigan entertain Hull KR on Friday
Craig Sandercock knows that his Hull KR team must keep Sam Tomkins quiet if the Humberside club are to stand any chance of beating Wigan on Friday.
The Rovers coach takes his squad across the Pennines to face the in-form Warriors on their own patch, with Wigan still in the chase for all three major prizes - the League Leaders Shield, Grand Final winners and the Challenge Cup.
Sandercock knows how destructive Wigan can be at their best having already lost 84-6 this season to the Warriors, who last weekend clocked up 70 points against London Broncos in their Challenge Cup semi-final.
Sandercock said of the full-back: "He has got what a lot of elite players have, and that is anticipation and speed.
Tomkins confident for Hull KR test
"If you have those two things, on the back of playing quick balls, you can be dangerous.
"We need to make sure we do a decent job in the middle of the park and limit his opportunities.
"Statistics tell you that if Sam Tomkins plays, they very rarely lose.
"He is obviously the main danger but if you look at their team they have got threats all over the park. We just need to be at the top of our game."
