England and Brisbane centre Jack Reed faces six weeks on the sidelines with a collarbone injury.

Scans have revealed a dislocation as well as a hairline fracture when Reed slid into an advertising sign during the Broncos' 32-0 NRL defeat in Melbourne on Friday.

The Broncos have eight matches left of the regular season and Reed will be keen to prove his fitness ahead of the World Cup.

England coach Steve McNamara is scheduled to announce his squad on 9 October, 17 days before the opening game against Australia.
