Ex-England full-back Shaun Briscoe has joined Championship club Workington until the end of the season after being released by the Widnes Vikings
The 30-year-old joined the Vikings from Hull KR 18 months ago but his spell was hit by injury and he has made only five Super League appearances this season.
He also played for Wigan Warriors and Hull FC and has played more than 200 Super League games, scoring an impressive 99 tries.
Briscoe, who is in his testimonial year, recently played on a dual-registration for Workington.
He told News & Star Sport: "I wanted to play rugby and Workington Town offered me the chance. There's no other agenda than to do my best and help Town win games."
