Hull FC's search for a new scrum-half is over following the acquisition of Jacob Miller on a two-and-a-half-year contract from the Wests Tigers.

The NRL club released the 20-year-old from the remainder of his deal in order to allow him to join the Super League side once he receives the necessary paperwork.

The highly-rated Australian youngster will be vying with the likes of experienced duo Richard Horne and Daniel Holdsworth for a place in coach Peter Gentle's starting line-up.

"I am really excited about the opportunity to play in Super League with Hull FC," he told the club's official website.

"It looks like it's a great time to be joining Hull, they have a strong roster and what looks like a great stadium so I can't wait to get over there and get started.

"I am obviously leaving a club that I have close ties with and I have some good friends here, but I would like to thank the club, the coaches, the players and the fans for their support over the last few years and wish them all the very best for the future and hopefully a strong run for the rest of the season."

Pivotal

Miller played a pivotal role in Wests' success in the Under-20s Grand Final as well as being named in the Toyota Cup Team of the Year before making his senior debut in 2012.

"It looks like it's a great time to be joining Hull, they have a strong roster and what looks like a great stadium so I can't wait to get over there and get started."

Gentle believes the acquisition of Miller comes at the perfect time and that Miller has all the attributes to become a quality player for the East Yorkshire club.

"It's a timely acquisition for us in a position we have been looking to cover for some time now," said Gentle.

"Jacob is a player that has all the attributes to be a quality half back and we feel can really benefit our side, as well as improving his own game.

"He'll fit in nicely working with the likes of Daniel (Holdsworth) and Horney (Richard Horne) and we look forward to him joining up with the side in the coming weeks."
