Wigan coach Shaun Wane has drafted youngsters James Greenwood and George Williams into his squad for Friday's Tetley's Challenge Cup tie with Leigh.

Prop Greenwood, 21, missed out on the match-day squad for last week's win over Bradford, but he is back in the 19 for the fourth-round encounter.

Greenwood and 18-year-old stand-off Williams have both been training with the first-team squad all season and could be given a chance to feature against Centurions.

Wane has also taken the opportunity to rest Blake Green, Michael McIlorum and Liam Farrell, but he insisted he will be putting out his strongest possible line-up.

"We have been carrying one or two knocks in recent weeks and if I need to rest a player I will do," Wane said. "I will put out my best team and I want them to put on a good performance and if someone is not fit I won't be forcing them to play.

"It doesn't matter to us who we play and what competition we prepare the same and will show the same respect for Leigh as we would for Warrington or St Helens.

"They also have a number of ex-Wigan players in their side like Bob Beswick, Andrew Thornley and Thomas Coyle, they are good around the edges and both Centres play tough, I know they will be really motivated for this game."

Wigan squad: Charnley, Crosby, Dudson, Flower, Goulding, Greenwood, Hansen, Hughes, Lloyd, Mossop, O'Loughlin, Powell, Richards, Smith, Taylor, Thornley, L Tomkins, S Tomkins, Williams.
