St Helens will be without James Roby for betwee a month and 10 weeks
St Helens hooker James Roby is facing up to 10 weeks on the sidelines because of an ankle injury sustained last week.
The England international, 27, picked up the injury during Saints' 52-18 thrashing of Wakefield on Friday and is due to see a specialist on Tuesday.
"Robes will be out for an extended period of time," said coach Nathan Brown. "We're not sure how long at the moment.
"It is more than likely he will be out for a month and maybe as long as 10 weeks. It is definitely something we didn't want to happen but we will move on.
"We will look at the best options and see how we go later in the week."
On the possibility of switching New Zealand utility player Lance Hohaia from half-back to fill the void left by Roby, Brown added: "I wouldn't want to move our half-backs around but maybe that is the best option."
