Catalan Dragons have taken rugby union forward Marc Baget on a week-long trial.
The Bayonne number eight, who was a Top 14 title winner during his time with Biarritz, is thought to be considering a switch of codes to the 13-man game.
The 28-year-old trained with the Super League club for the first time on Monday morning as they prepare for their clash with Widnes Vikings in Perpignan this weekend.
"I met Marc for the first time two or three years ago and he has always been interested by our sport," said Catalan chairman Bernard Guasch.
"He wanted to try his hand and we are pleased to welcome him in our squad for a trial week."
The Dragons currently sit sixth in the table having won both their home games so far in 2013. They were beaten on the road last time out, however, going down 38-0 to Wigan Warriors at the DW Stadium.
