Harrison Hansen: Injury blow
Wigan second-row forward Harrison Hansen could miss the Super League kick-off after injuring his wrist in a warm-up match.
Hansen sustained the injury in the game at Salford last week and will require surgery, making him a doubt for the opening game of the new season at Salford City Reds on 1 February.
"Harrison will be struggling for the start of the season as it looks like he will need an operation on his wrist," Wigan head coach Shaun Wane told the club's official web site.
"I'm not sure of the exact timescale on that at the moment.
"He's struggling in the gym with his grip on the weights and for him to miss any training means it must be serious because he's a tough competitor.
"Harrison has been great in pre-season and any time on the sidelines is a blow for him and for us."
Wigan also confirmed that both Chris Tuson (dead leg) and Sean O'Loughlin (calf) could also miss Saturday's warm-up game at Warrington Wolves but both should be fit for the Super League opener at Salford City Reds.
