Zak Hardaker: Enjoyed his time with England despite only playing one of their Autumn Series games
Zak Hardaker believes his experience with England was worthwhile despite only featuring in one of their Autumn Series internationals.
The Leeds Rhinos full-back started their opening match against Wales while Sam Tomkins was recovering from a knee injury, scoring two tries in an emphatic 80-12 win.
Hardaker made a big impression in the game, but Wigan's Tomkins returned for their game against France at New Craven Park and retained his place for last Sunday's final win over the same opposition.
The Rhinos youngster travelled with the squad for their pre-tournament training in South Africa and he was delighted to be part of the group and now hopes to feature in next year's World Cup.
"The squad that went to South Africa for the training camp was really strong, so to get one game - I was really thrilled," he told the Yorkshire Evening Post. "I was really pleased I got that game.
"I've got a bit off time off now, then I'll be back into pre-season training with the Rhinos.
"I'll be concentrating on my own game for Leeds, but obviously you have to perform well to get into the England team for the end of the year.
"I'll be trying to do that. I'm just going to focus on Leeds and hopefully I can play well enough over the year to get picked for England at the end."
