Bradford Bulls: Record sponsorship deal in Super League
Bradford Bulls have secured a Super League-record £1.2m sponsorship deal with Provident Financial.
Bradford almost went bust last season but the four-year deal guarantees the club's future.
Chairman Gerry Sutcliffe told Sky Sports News: "It's great news for the club and the city and the sponsors. In these difficult economic times to get sponsorship of this level which secures the club's future for the next few years is really important."
"They also want to support our academy side and help us grow and develop.
Sutcliffe says the signing of Jamie Foster from St Helens is another sign that the Bulls are once again a draw.
"I think it shows a confidence in the club that players want to come here now. We have an exciting young coach and exciting squad of players. Now the club's finances are developing, I think it shows the rest of Super League that we are a club to be reckoned with," he said.
Sutcliffe confirmed that Odsal - which could be developed as a sports village - will be renamed the Provident Stadium and the former Sports Minister said he hoped Provident's decision to sponsor the club would lead to further deals.
"The good news is we have a major sponsor but other companies want to come on this journey," he said.
